brought to you by: Fast, Fun and Affordable The ISO is a fast, sophisticated, exciting, yet inexpensive total one-design that ordinary sailors of all sizes can race on equal terms - in all conditions. ISO means equal - and equality in Topper International's revolutionary single trapeze boat is provided for a wide range of crew weight - from 125 to 165Kgs - by the incorporation of quickly detachable wings. Lightweights gain power with the wings in place - but carry the burden of the wings carefully calculated weight. Heavies don't need the power of the wings and leave them - and their payload - ashore. Equal. Fair - and simple. At 4.74 metres overall with a total sail area of 35.5 sq m, ISO has the length to provide stability and tremendous upwind performance - with sensational but controllable speed off the wind. This is a boat with all the quality, exhileration, performance and STYLE of the premier racing classes. But at a fraction of the cost. The GRP sandwich hull with integral double bottom is wide, powerful and stable. The strict one-design SuperSpars mast and Sobstad Genesis sails are supported by a precision engineered alluminium space frame and the asymmetric spinnaker is set on a retractable pole. ISO is sailing off a Portsmouth Number of 926 yet even with this performance the single trapeze, asymmetric spinnaker and tremendous stability make ISO really easy to sail, thus widening its appeal to a range of sailors of differing abilities and crew weights. And unlike some more extreme designs, ISO is equally at home on small inland water courses as on the open sea. As the first one-design asymmetric skiff, the ISO has rapidly built a huge following. With large fleets at clubs and open meetings the racing is incredibly tight with a good market for affordable and competitive used boats. ISO's quality and consistency is underwritten by the legendary building and engineering skills of the Olympic Gold Medal-winning White Formula team. Specification: |
